Let’s Begin Our Journey Through the End Times – This is Your Lifeline of Support

I’m glad to see that everyone has made it. Jen, I see that you are late as usual, but we’re certainly glad that you made it. =)

The focus of our group will be to walk through the end times, together. A support, so to say, in dealing with the events of the last days. We will discuss events as they happen, however, we are now focused on remaining strong emotionally during this time, rather than the constant worry from the events that lie ahead,

Let’s Get Started

As we prepare to enter into the final 7 years here on earth, one of the most important things that I would suggest is the need for a plan. We have spent the past several months learning about the events that will take place, now let’s talk about creating a plan to help us proceed. In doing this, you will see that much of our anxiety will be eliminated because we will know how we are going to respond. We will also have the proper tools, which we will learn about in the coming posts.

To begin, I would like for you to rate your relationship with Jesus Christ on a scale from 1 thru 10. (Be honest with yourself).

1 – Being that you barely know Jesus Christ

10 – You trust Him FULLY, and have a daily interaction with Him

Have you got a number in mind? This number is important as it is our starting point. If your number is low, don’t fear…Our focus will be on increasing this number for you. In order for you to be prepared for the end times, developing a relationship with Jesus Christ should be your immediate focus…So, let’s get to it.

For those of you who are at a 10, please continue reading, and feel free to respond in the comments with your own ways of how you developed this relationship with the Savior, so that others can see and learn from you.

A key point in this relationship is to first understand who Jesus Christ is…shall we do that? I’d like for you to get to know Him personally, being respectful in our relationship with Him, but not placing Him in a non-approachable glass container, far removed.

So, God sent us all here to earth. He gave us this commandment:

1 Corinthians 6:9–10 (KJV)

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

Oh… We are all doomed, right? There is not a person on this earth right now who has not broken a commandment and sinned, WE ALL HAVE BEEN SINNERS. (Heavy sigh here). However, God knew that we would fail because of our free agency to make choices. So, he didn’t stop here, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to the earth to Atone for all of our sins.

The atonement of Jesus Christ is the greatest act of love ever shown to mankind. Through His suffering, death, and resurrection, Jesus paid the price for our sins, offering forgiveness and eternal life to all who believe in Him.

As it is written, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8, KJV).

His blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7), and by His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).

The atonement is the only way to be reconciled to God, for “neither is there salvation in any other” (Acts 4:12, KJV).

I have no other friend who has actually died for me. Jesus Christ came to earth and physically took upon Himself all of our sins. He died for us to fulfill the necessary process for our forgiveness. Take a moment and truly consider what He has done for us.

Details of the Atonement

Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane is one of the most sacred and sorrowful moments in all of Scripture. It marks the beginning of His Atonement—a divine act of suffering, obedience, and love that provided a way for all humanity to be reconciled with God.

The Setting – Gethsemane

After the Last Supper, Jesus and His disciples went to the Garden of Gethsemane, located at the foot of the Mount of Olives, just outside Jerusalem. It was a quiet place, often visited by Jesus for prayer (Luke 22:39). But this night was different. It was the eve of His crucifixion.

The Suffering Begins

In Gethsemane, Jesus began to experience the full weight of the sins of the world. The agony He faced wasn’t only the anticipation of the physical torture and death to come, but the spiritual and emotional burden of bearing every sin, pain, sorrow, and injustice ever committed by mankind.

“And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.”

This verse shows the intensity of His suffering. It was so great that His sweat became like blood—a condition known medically as hematidrosis, which can occur under extreme stress.

His Prayer and Submission

Three times, Jesus prayed to the Father. In His humanity, He pleaded:

Matthew 26:39 (KJV)

“O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.”

Though He asked for the suffering to pass, He fully submitted to the will of God. His obedience was total, even unto death (Philippians 2:8). This shows the unity between the Father and the Son—and Jesus’ willingness to drink the bitter cup for our sake.

The Atonement Unfolds

The Atonement was not just a moment on the cross; it began in Gethsemane. There, Jesus began to take upon Himself the sins of the world (Isaiah 53:4-6). He was utterly alone in that moment—His disciples had fallen asleep. Heaven seemed distant. But He endured.

The full price of sin required divine payment. Jesus, the sinless Son of God, became our substitute. The wrath and justice of God for sin were poured out on Him, and through that, mercy was extended to us.

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

What It Means

In Gethsemane, we see the cost of our redemption. Jesus’ suffering was real, personal, and complete. He bore what no one else could. The Atonement continued at the cross and was sealed by His resurrection. But it began in that quiet garden, where the Savior chose to say, “Thy will be done,” and in doing so, opened the gates of grace for every soul.

Because of Gethsemane, anyone who repents and believes in Him can be forgiven, restored, and made whole.

If you have never watched a video on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, I invite you to do so tonight. Feeling the emotion of His sacrifice will draw you in to understanding His love for you.

This attornment was the first Rescue that God has planned for us. He is saving us from the restriction of death, giving us eternal life… to live FOREVER.

It is also because of Him, that the awful things that we have done in our life can be forgiven as we repent, and God will remember them no more. We are again CLEAN…and Being clean allows us to live in the presence of God forever. Are you realizing the significance of His sacrifice for YOU?

“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.”

Communicating with God Through Prayer

The last thing I’d like to cover today is one of the most powerful and personal parts of our relationship with God: prayer. I imagine many of you are already familiar with the process, but I want to share a few important insights that might deepen your understanding.

We begin our prayers with: “Dear Heavenly Father,” because that is who we are speaking to. We end with: “In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen,” which is a sacred reminder that it is only through Jesus Christ that we are able to approach God.

Beyond these bookends, prayer is simply talking with God—honestly and personally—through Jesus Christ. Tell Him what you’re grateful for. He loves hearing those words. Ask Him for help in your challenges. Ask for strength, wisdom, protection, or whatever is on your heart.

Let prayer become your first response, not your last resort. It should be the first thing you think of and do when you’re overwhelmed, uncertain, or even just thankful.

Prayer is immediate power. It is your lifeline, your direct connection to someone who loves you deeply and is concerned with your safety, peace, and growth. If your prayer life has gathered dust on the shelf, I invite you to bring it back into regular use.

You’ll find that through prayer, you are never alone in any challenge. It connects you with the One who sees everything, knows everything, and can do anything.

So when and how should we pray?

Some people say, “I don’t want to bother God with my little problems. I’ll only pray when it’s something important.” But is that what the scriptures teach? Let’s take a look:

1 Thessalonians 5:17 (KJV)
“Pray without ceasing.”

Luke 18:1 (KJV)
“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.”

There it is—God wants prayer to be a big part of our lives. Prayer isn’t just “Please help me.” It’s also “Thank You,” “I love You,” and “What do You want me to learn from this?”

Can we pray in the car? At work? Are there requirements?

Absolutely, we can pray anywhere. In my own life, prayer happens at all kinds of moments. But Jesus gave us this clear guidance about our more focused, personal prayers:

Matthew 6:6 (KJV)
“But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”

Jesus taught that prayer is not meant to be a show for others—it’s a personal, heartfelt conversation with our Father in Heaven.

One of my favorite ways to pray is kneeling by my bedside, eyes closed and arms folded. This posture shows reverence and helps me focus. But many of my prayers are spontaneous—spoken while driving, walking, or even mid-thought. It’s not always formal, and it doesn’t have to be. What matters is the sincerity of your heart.

Most importantly, remember that prayer is a two-way conversation. If you’re doing all the talking, how can you hear what God is saying back to you? Think of a time you were with someone who never stopped talking—you couldn’t get a word in. Don’t let your prayers become like that.

Take time to listen. Build space into your day where you can sit in quietness, open to hearing His still, small voice.

God is approachable. He is your Father. He cares about how your day went, what’s on your mind, and how you’re feeling. Prayer is the beautiful, sacred way we keep that connection alive.

We will continue to learn more about Jesus Christ in the coming posts. But today, take a moment to reflect on the greatest gift ever offered to mankind: the Atonement.

Let us try to comprehend the sacred event when Jesus Christ came to this earth and, on that solemn night in Gethsemane, knelt in humble prayer to His Father. There, He willingly took upon Himself the weight of all the world’s sins. He chose to feel the guilt, remorse, betrayal, heartbreak—every imaginable pain and sorrow that would ever be felt by anyone. He accepted this overwhelming burden so that you and I could be forgiven.

There’s something deeply personal I often think about regarding the Atonement. In my own life, I’ve gone through times when I’ve felt completely alone—like no one could possibly understand what I was experiencing. But in those moments, I remember that there is One who knows exactly what I’m going through: Jesus Christ. He felt my exact sorrow in Gethsemane. He carried my pain. And that realization has become a powerful and personal bond between me and the Savior—because He truly gets me.

Look at this girl’s face. She bears the marks of sin, grief, or hardship. Her eyes reveal pain and a longing to be understood.

Now look at the Savior’s face. His scars are deeper, more numerous—each one representing the price He paid for her, and for all of us. He understands her. Because of that understanding, He draws near to comfort her.
